Esolion™ is the online direct sales channel of Solvay Chemicals International. Esolion™ is a registered Trademark and access is via the web-address: www.esolion.com.
The site allows registered customers to purchase essential Chemicals (liquid and solid Caustic Soda, Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Hypochlorite) from Solvay under well defined rules and at competitive prices. You can read the rules of Esolion™ in detail under the section “Business Rules”.
Esolion™ offers you, its customer a straight approach. It provides no services so you only pay for what you use. As an experienced customer, you will get the product you want at the best price with only the relevant and required service.
Esolion is only designed for deliveries to end-customers.
2. How do I register?
The hyperlink Esolion™ will take you to the website where you can register. Please answer all mandatory questions and those that are applicable to your country. You will be subjected to an appropriate credit check to determine credit availability.
3. Where do I find the price of the products you are selling?
The price is found on the Esolion™ website. After registering, you will be given a username and password, which will enable you to enter the website. After logging on, you will be directed to the, ‘your products and related prices’ page.
4. When are the prices updated / what is the price validity?
Esolion™ will update the price of the products on the 10th of each month (or on the next first working day), following the market price evolution. The price will be valid for delivery between and including 3 and 30 days from the date when the order was placed on Esolion™.
5. When will the surcharges be applicable?
As this is a no-frills ordering channel, we will only surcharge you when we have experienced additional costs whilst processing your order. Typically, this will occur under the following circumstances:
a) If you change your delivery date after reaching the order status ‘transport booked’ , a surcharge of Euro 10/mt will be added to your final invoice.
b) If you cancel your order, a cancellation fee of Euro 300 will be invoiced to you.
c) Any other changes to the order apart from that of a changed delivery date (as described above) will be considered as a new order and the old order will be cancelled. Therefore, you will be invoiced a cancellation fee of Euro 300.
d) You will be charged demurrage: (i) if you cancel your order after it has reached the status “Order dispatched”, or (ii) if you try to delay the off loading time, or (iii) if the tanker is held up on your site for more than two hours, or (iv) if the tanker is turned away because you cannot discharge the product into your storage tank. Such demurrage charge will be invoiced at cost.
6. What are the payment terms of Esolion™
Esolion™ payment terms are 30 days from date of invoice. The invoice date is the date of dispatch of the product from our facility. We expect to receive the payment on or before the due payment date stated on the invoice.
7. How do I order/what is your lead time?
You can access our order form pages on the Esolion™ website once you have been given a username and password. Ordering is fairly straightforward. Our policy is to deliver the product based on a minimum lead-time of 3 working days from receipt of order before noon, providing the distance between your plant and the sourcing plant is less than 350 km. We accept orders for delivery up to 30 (thirty) calendar days from the date of order.
8. How do I check my order status?
The order status has the following meaning:
Unconfirmed: Your order request has been sent to the Customer Care Service or your order may have encountered a problem.
Order Being Processed: Your order has been received and the customer care service is checking product availability, delivery schedule and credit.
Confirmed: Product availability and price are confirmed, transport has yet to be booked.
Transport Booked: Delivery arrangements are confirmed.
Order Dispatched: Product has left the plant.
Invoiced: Invoice has been generated.
We strongly recommend that you monitor your order on the Esolion™ website by following the ‘My orders’ link to the order list. Your orders will show one of the above order statuses.
9. What volume can I order?
Esolion™ allows the purchase of volumes in full truck loads only.
Usually these are quantities between 22 and 27 metric tonnes.
10. My delivery plant is 200Km from your sourcing plant - can you deliver?
Yes, Esolion™ can deliver up to 350 Km from the sourcing plant. For longer distances, please contact your local Solvay representative.
11. When can I change my order/How can I change the delivery date?
You can change the delivery date of your order without incurring a surcharge as long as it’s done before the status ‘transport booked’ has been reached. Any other changes to the order will be classed as a new order and you will incur a cancellation fee of Euro 300.

12. What are the delivery terms?
Delivery terms and conditions are CIP, according to Incoterms 2000. The delivery time is normally between 6am and 6pm Monday to Friday inclusive. We will not deliver at the Weekend nor on Bank Holidays. We will not deliver to a specified time. We normally allow the standard two (2) hours to discharge the product from when the truck arrives at your site to when the truck leaves your site.
13. What technical data do I have access to?
As Esolion™ is an online ordering channel of Solvay Chemicals International, we offer access to product the data sheets (pds) and the safety data sheets (sds) online. Both are available on the Esolion™ website.
14. How will I receive my invoice?
Esolion™ uses e-billing. This invoicing method is electronic. We will send you - upon agreement from you upon the said process - our legal invoice by e-mail attachment with an advanced electronic signature. Therefore, we will need a dedicated e-mail address from your company. This e-invoicing method complies with the European Legislation (Directive 115/2001/EU) and to national laws having transposed said Directive.
15. Can I buy from Esolion™ and a traditional Solvay Channel at the same time?
No, as an online sales channel of Solvay Chemicals International (SCI), Esolion™ allows the purchase of Chemicals only to customers that do not buy the same products from SCI through another traditional channel.
